Did you know that damage to your windshield can compromise the structural integrity of your vehicle? Romero’s Tri-Valley Auto Body offers auto glass repair to keep you and your family safe throughout the Livermore, CA area.

A cracked windshield can be a hazardous situation, as even the smallest chip in your auto glass can quickly turn into a large crack that can compromise the strength and stability of the glass. Give Romero’s Tri-Valley Auto Body a call as soon as you see a crack in your windshield.

If caught early enough, this repair can be an easy fix, and depending on your insurance policy, it may cost you nothing out of pocket to repair. However, the longer you wait, the more it will take to fix this issue and could get quite expensive and eat up your deductible.

When you bring your vehicle to Romero’s Tri-Valley Auto Body, our highly skilled technicians will look at several factors to determine how to best fix your auto glass.

Size of damage
Your vehicle’s auto glass damage will first be evaluated to determine if auto glass repair is suitable. The size of the damage to your auto glass plays a key role in whether it needs to be replaced or if it can be repaired. In general, if the amount of damage is less than the size of a dollar bill, it can typically be repaired.

Location of damage
If the direct line of sight is impeded by a chip or crack, your windshield may not be a good candidate for repair. Replacement may be the solution for you. Even if the crack or chip is small, if it is in the driver’s vision, it will leave a mark that that can impair the driver’s vision and safety. If the damage is located in the corner of your windshield, you’ll likely have to have the entire windshield replaced. This is because a crack or chip in the corner of your auto glass can diminish the integrity of your windshield causing it to shatter or break unexpectedly.

Amount of damage
If your auto glass has only sustained a small amount of damage it can likely be repaired. For instance, if you have three or fewer chips, often times you can have it repaired. However, additional chips make it more susceptible to shattering without notice.
